Uber is the greatest thing since sliced…
Uber is the greatest thing since sliced bread. I have a car but several times a year it has to be serviced. It used to be a pain to get ride home from family or a friend after I dropped off my car. Now, I use my Uber app and within minutes a car picks me up and for a reasonable fee I can get on with my day. When my car is ready to be picked up I use the app and in minutes I'm in an Uber and on my way. The cars are always clean and the drivers are very professional and nice people. Thank you Uber!

No show with my Reserved & Confirmed Uber
I reserved an Uber, 2 days in advance, to take me at 04:20, from Kennington to Heathrow airport to catch an early morning flight.

The booking was accepted and confirmed but No car showed up, and from looking at the map on the app, there was Zero cars available for miles! As it was evident that no Uber was available, I cancelled the booking and was instantly charged the full amount.

Foolishly I Tried to book via the app, numerous cars showed as being available, but each accepted and then cancelled, so with time ticking by, I cancelled the request, and was charged again - even though there were no cars available!

I Contacted Uber to reclaim the £100+ That I had been charged - and was informed I would have to wait for them to decide whether they will refund!!!!!

Why-oh-why does Uber accept early morning advanced bookings, if they are unable to assign drivers - it’s unfair to put their clients under such levels of stress - especially when transport options are limited at 04:30 in the morning, and flights are involved.

I did manage to find a Zip Flex car, and drove myself, and with a lot of luck, managed to negotiate security at Heathrow - but I was the last person to board my flight!

Terrible customer service
Terrible customer service. No response for days then repeated automated response. I asked for an email- no reply. They have stolen money from me adding many hidden costs so the price was well over double what I initially accepted. It's a disgrace.

BS up charging
I opened the app as I was landing at AIBA. App quoted $28 and change for my ride. It was a few minutes early to order so as soon as I deplaned I opened the app again literally 2 minutes later it quoted $83 and change for the same ride. Why? Because it’s busy? It was 1:30am on a Wednesday morning. It wasn’t busy. You know you have people in a position where they haven’t a choice. I call BS! The same ride should not triple in a matter of minutes.

Dreadful customer service with no real complaints procedure
I placed an order on 18th July 2022. I was given an estimated arrival time of 10:25pm and it stated that my order would arrive by 11pm at the latest. However, the estimated time changed several times beyond 11pm. My order was prepared and the driver was not close to collecting it. I spent a long period trying to find out how to contact Uber to cancel the order as it was due to arrive at least an hour late which was too long of a delay. I had to go to work the next morning and needed to go to bed, I was not prepared to wait up with the arrival time constantly changing and the food getting cold. After much searching I finally managed to chat with someone named Ahmad via Uber. I explained the situation and requested a refund and for the order to be cancelled due to the excessive delay. Ahmad advised that he could cancel the order but I would still be charged, which is completely unreasonable under the circumstances. I was very clear that I wanted the order to be cancelled and I told Ahmad I would pursue a complaint as I expect to be refunded. Whilst liaising with Ahmad, I also contacted the driver directly to advise him that I was cancelling the order and I asked him not to come to my address. The driver read my message and did not respond but came to my address regardless, at around 11.30pm, though I had cancelled the order. He proceeded to call and message me while I was in bed stating that Uber had not informed him of the cancellation. I am completely dissatisfied with the poor customer service I received. It is entirely unreasonable to keep my money when my order was significantly delayed and would have been cold and unsatisfactory upon arrival. I am also extremely disappointed by Uber's deliberately difficult complaints process which is obviously designed to deter customers from accessing anyone. I have been a loyal and consistent customer, using both Uber eats and Uber cars on a weekly basis. It is shameful that customers are treated this way. I resorted to corresponding with Uber via their Twitter account and I was patronised and gas lit by the person dealing with my complaint. My issue was not addressed at all and instead I was given irrelevant responses that had nothing to do with my queries. I have experienced poor customer service from Uber/Ubereats previously and avoided making a fuss but this is the last straw. I have deleted my account and will take my custom elsewhere as there are plenty of alternatives. Ordinarily, I spend £100s each month on Uber/Ubereats and it is insane that they would be so greedy to refuse to refund £11.56 at the expense of my ongoing custom. Aside from the above, Uber cabs have become incredibly unreliable, frequently cancelling trips at the last minute. A very disappointing approach to customer service indeed.

Uber didn't show up
I pre booked a trip the day before and waited the following day at the arranged time. After waiting an extra 10 minutes with no sign of a driver the trip disappeared from my Uber app. No apology. Nothing. How can you rely on a mini cab firm that makes you wait 10 minutes beyond the booked time and then doesn't show up? I won't trust Uber again.
